The hope of Jeremiah

The Lord placed this word on my heart from Lamentations chapter three.

21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

22 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

25 The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeker him.

26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

The Prophet Jeremiah wrote the book of Lamentation mourning over God's judgment on his homeland Judah, because after God blessed them they turned away from him and served other gods, provoking his jealous wrath.

Jeremiah after warning his country for decades about the coming judgment, now saw the result of a stubborn people refusing, to listen to GOD;S warning, a land totally destroyed.

In his mourning God allowed the prophet to see, God's mercy in it all. This is a lesson applicable to today in the USA. Currently there in much hardship that has come upon our nation, because we forsook God's ways, and did our own thing. God we will not be mocked what soever a man reap so shall he sow. The growing violence in our streets, schools, and homes are the result of our rejecting God's principles laid out in the Bible, and following a way that looks right to us but leads to death.

As I look at the poor state of affairs, in which we find ourselves, I take courage in the fact that, we are still here because of God's mercy and goodness. God is Good desires that none perish, so he has nor destroyed us completely yet, giving us the time to turn from our folly, and back to him, so that our nation may be restored.

I see all that is happening, and I am secure in the fact that God is merciful to those that trust him and serve him. Judgment is being poured out in the USA. If any one says different he is lying to you and the truth is not in him. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. The answer to the question "who would Jesus bomb?" is Sodom, and Gomorrah. Unless this Nation turns, from evil the United States will be like those two cities, and in the final judgment they will testify against us, for they did taste of the Lord's goodness as we did, nor did they see his wonders as we did. In the US the lame walked and the blind gained sight. In the war of 1812 we lost our capital to the British , and our military was destroyed, the president of that time, took what was left of congress, hid in a Church, and cried out to God, and God answered through the most severe storm ever to hit this nation, and it wiped out the foreign invaders, preserving our liberty.

God made us the greatest nation on the Earth, and we rewarded him, by removing his law from our public buildings, and through abortion we treat the blessing of children with total detest.

However those who turn to him, and chose to turn their lives over to him will find mercy.

The mercy that I am referring to has been bought for through the sacrifice of the sinless son of God, who though that it would be of greater value to die for the sin of man that to live in eternity without him.

Sincerely Mike
