new covenant to renew the mind

If any man be in Christ he is a new creation and the old thing have passed away, by this we are not condemned.

We recieve Jesus into our hearts, we are made new from within. Charcter and nature of Christ comes to live in us, because the Spirit Christ lives in us. In our spirits we are already recreated to be like him. The problem is that are mind are cluttered with the filth of this world preventing from walking in the fullness of the person of Christ dwelling in our inner man.

In order for us to live in the reality be being the new creation, that we, we must withdraw from the influences of the world that tries to conform us to the image of the old nature in the realm of our thinking.

Paul told the Church not to be conformed to this world , but be transformed by the renewing of our mind. This renewing takes place as we seek the Lord prayer, and meditation. The transformation ocurrs in the prayer closet, as one separates him self from the things of the world, and focus solely on the blessed Lord that has saved us through his sacrifice at Calvary.

Through the blood of Christ we have free access to the thrown of God we we can recieve grace and mercy. This time before him is vital, in the renewing of our minds, in his presence, the Spirit speaks the word of God directly to our hearts, and plants it inside us. It is this word that he plants in us that has the power to save us. This all part of the covenant that God has made with us through shed blood of Christ, as prophesied by the prophet Jeremiah.

Jer 31:31 "The day will come," says the Lord, "when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah.

Jer 31:32 This covenant will not be like the one I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand and brought them out of the land of Egypt. They broke that covenant, though I loved them as a husband loves his wife," says the Lord.

Jer 31:33 "But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day," says the Lord. "I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

Jer 31:34 And they will not need to teach their neighbors, nor will they need to teach their family, saying, `You should know the Lord.' For everyone, from the least to the greatest, will already know me," says the Lord. "And I will forgive their wickedness and will never again remember their sins."

This promise, is the reality that we have in Christ, God will right his word in hearts nad minds if we seek the reality of the covenant we have with the Father though the Cross.

In Romans Chapter 8 Paul declares that he has found the power of the new covenant in this verse

New living translation

Rom 8:1 So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.

Rom 8:2 For the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you through Christ Jesus from the power of sin that leads to death.

Rom 8:3 The law of Moses could not save us, because of our sinful nature. But God put into effect a different plan to save us. He sent his own Son in a human body like ours, except that ours are sinful. God destroyed sin's control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.

Rom 8:4 He did this so that the requirement of the law would be fully accomplished for us who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.

In his Earthly walk Christ forfilled all the rightoeus requirement of the law. The Spirit of Christ dwells with, and within every believer, for the purpose of doing the same thing in the hearts those who believe.

The ability to renew our minds is not in ourselves, or of ourselves, for apart from Christ we can do nothing. It is accordance to the new covenant, and the working of the Holy Spirit.
